Energy Law Fundamentals Seminar

We are delighted to announce that the CELF Energy Law Fundamentals Seminar will return to Banff and will offer two days of world class education and unique networking opportunities, all against the beautiful backdrop of the Alberta Rockies.

Created specifically for junior to mid-level energy practitioners, the Energy Law Fundamentals Seminar is designed to be applicable to lawyers who work in-house as well as for those in private practice. The Energy Law Fundamentals Seminar has become a highly sought after continuing education experience for industry oriented practitioners and we look forward to seeing you there.

We hope to share the agenda in July. We typically host 10 sessions: 4 plenary and 3 concurrent where you select one of two sessions to attend.

The seminar program will offer 10 session and continue to include the important and popular annual reviews such as:

  • Due Diligence 101
  • Anatomy of an Oil & Gas Transaction
  • Recent Regulatory and Legislative Developments of Interest to Energy Lawyers
  • Midstream Basics
  • Recent Judicial Decisions of Interest to Energy Lawyers

Accommodations
A block of rooms is reserved at the Fairmont Banff Springs for attendees at a special rate of $359, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
CELF attendees can also book their hotel rooms online here.

Please note:

  • Fairmont category has a maximum occupancy of 2 persons.
  • The Fairmont will charge a mandatory additional $39.00 CAD per Room daily Resort Experience Fee that is not included in
    the above rates.
  • The registrant is responsible for all hotel bookings and cancellations.
  • The CELF preferred rate is available only until October 19, 2026 or until the room block is full, whichever comes first, so book early to secure your accommodations.
  • Cancellations or early departures require at least 30 days’ notice. Any room cancellations within 30 days of arrival, No Shows, and/or Early Departures, will be charged 100% of the applicable reservation room and tax charges.
  • A full non-refundable deposit will  be charged to the credit card provided 30 days prior to arrival.
